About Purchase Section

The purchase section of the KWA is responsible for procuring various materials, equipment and services necessary for the functioning of the authority. This includes:

Procurement of Equipment for developing IT Infrastructure: It involves the acquisition of desktop computers, tablets, laptops, printers, scanners, and other necessary devices. This initiative aims to empower officers and enhance productivity within the organization.
Procurement of Chemicals: Annual contracts for the supply of various chemicals such as Ferric Alum, Hydrated Lime, and Bleaching Powder are tendered and awarded by the Stores Purchase Department of KWA.
Annual Maintenance Contract: Engaging in contracts with service providers for various services such as maintenance of electronic equipment.
Vendor Empanelment and Management: Empanelment of qualified vendors for the supply of various items to water supply and sewerage projects. Managing relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and adherence to quality standards.
Empanelment of Third Party Inspection Agencies: The quality of materials supplied by empanelled manufacturers is ensured through approved Third Party Inspection Agencies. The Stores Purchase Section holds the responsibility for empaneling and managing qualified Third Party Inspection Agencies.
Budgeting and Cost Control: Planning and managing budgets for procurement activities, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency in purchases.
Compliance and Regulation: Ensuring that all procurement activities comply with relevant regulations and guidelines set forth by government authorities.
Tender Processes: Managing the tendering process for procurement contracts, including drafting tender documents, evaluating bids, and awarding contracts to successful bidders.
Inventory Management: Maintaining an inventory of equipment supplied to various offices of KWA.
Supply of Smart ID Cards to Employees: Smart Biometric ID cards are issued to all KWA employees from this department, following the collection and processing of their applications.
Revamping of Desktop Computers: The Stores Purchase Section oversees the availability and need for desktop computers across different KWA offices.
Nodal Office for the procurement through GeM & CPRCS: The Stores Purchase Section of KWA serves as the nodal office for procurement activities facilitated via GM and CPRCS across various offices of KWA.
